Spirit Moves to Diwali 2027, Facing Ramayana Part 2
Sandeep Reddy Vanga set Prabhas's Spirit for Oct. 29, 2027, Diwali. Ramayana Part 2 is also expected then, though it has no date yet.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, with Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, will now open worldwide on Oct. 29, 2027, Vanga announced on Oct. 18. The date falls in the Diwali season, when Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana Part 2 is also expected, though that film has no date yet.
The announcement
Vanga posted the date on X with a new poster of Prabhas, calling the film "India's Biggest Superstar" in the hashtag. India Today reports the film had been set for March 5, 2027. NDTV says it was earlier expected in December 2026, so earlier dates in circulation differ by source.
Spirit is the first collaboration between Prabhas and Vanga. India Today reports Prabhas plays a police officer with one bad habit, and that Vivek Oberoi and Prakash Raj also have key roles. NDTV says filming began in November 2025 and that Vanga first announced the project in 2021. T-Series and Vanga Pictures are tagged as the producers in the director's post.
The possible clash
NDTV says Ramayana Part 2, with Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, is also expected at Diwali 2027, backed by Namit Malhotra. It stresses that an exact date for Ramayana Part 2 has not been announced, so it is unclear whether the films will open on the same day or at different points of the season.
The report adds that Vanga's last film, Animal (2023), collected more than Rs 900 crore worldwide, according to NDTV.
Prabhas's other films
India Today reports that Prabhas's period drama Fauzi, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, was initially expected in December 2026 and is now reportedly eyeing March 18, 2027. It lists Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 and Salaar Part 2 among his other projects.
Why it matters
Diwali is one of the busiest release windows, and two of the biggest announced films now point at the same one. Release dates in Indian cinema often move, and this one has already moved.
What we could not confirm
We could not confirm Ramayana Part 2's date, and neither source gives one. The Fauzi date is described as a report. The tagline comes from Vanga's own post. We have not seen the poster or any footage.
